Campus grounds aren’t only a backdrop at the University of Minnesota. Our Living Laboratories have transformed otherwise un-programmed areas into spaces for innovation, testing, demonstration, and learning. Sound like something you would like to create? The Twin Cities Sustainability Committee invites proposals twice a year from the University community to create living laboratories. Selected proposals will be provided space on campus grounds and guidance in facilitating project implementation. Seed funding may be available living labs depending on availability and need.
Outside funding is available for Living Laboratory projects:
Institute on the Environment Mini Grants: These are available twice per year, and applicants are encouraged to apply for these mini grants to align funding and project timelines.
The Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources through the Minnesota Legislature.
There are many other environmental project grants available in Minnesota. Check out which ones might fit your project goals.
