This Sunday, October 24th, is the Campus Cleanup Crew’s third cleanup of the semester and their first ever river cleanup! Meet at the East River Flats (351 E River Pkwy, Minneapolis, MN 55455) at 12:00 PM and help clean the Mississippi River bank until around 1:30 PM. There are many reasons to keep the river clean! Learn more about the University of Minnesota's Stormwater program.

After cleaning, meet back at the East River Flats for Canes and a brief presentation from the University of Minnesota Sustainability Coordinator, Carley Rice. Carley will be discussing the sustainability initiatives that the University of Minnesota is partaking in. Bring your friends and don't forget to dress for the weather! Be sure to RSVPSee you on Sunday!

Join M Dining on the front plaza of Coffman Memorial Union for a free planting event on Thursday, April 22! M Dining's Sustainability and Health & Wellness teams will be joined by campus partners UMN Sustainability - It All Adds Up and Waste Recovery Services.

M Dining will be providing pots, soil, succulents, and herb seeds for students to participate in this Earth Day activity. Due to social distancing guidelines, each participant must sign up for their preferred time slot and check in at the event entrance.

Facilities Management’s Landcare team is the primary snow removal service provider for the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus, responsible for clearing nearly 100 miles of streets and walkways, and over 100 acres of parking surfaces. Landcare added anti-icing to the University’s winter maintenance program in 2006, which led to notable cost savings and reduced environmental impact. So, how do they do it?
